The Korowai tribe is a group of people living in the southeastern part of Papua, Indonesia. They are one of the few remaining tribes who live in treehouses in the jungle. The Korowai people were not discovered by the West until the 1970s. They are known for their traditional hunting and gathering lifestyle and are highly skilled in forest survival. The Korowai people speak their own language which is part of the larger Papuan language family. They are also famous for their artwork, which includes paintings, sculptures, and carvings. Despite increased contact with the outside world, the Korowai people still maintain many of their traditional practices and beliefs.
